WHO Director-General meets Turkish Ambassador to UN

Geneva, 31 August 2021 (TDI): Tedros Adhanom, Director-General of the World Health Organization, met with Sadik Arslan, Ambassador of Turkey to the United Nations.

COVID-19 was the main agenda of the meeting with the Turkish Ambassador to the UN. Tedros in his statement mentioned that WHO is working to find the origins of COVID-19 with the help of Turkey. The prerequisite for a scientific approach to curb COVID-19 was also discussed in the meeting.

WHO Director-General appreciated the unwavering support of Turkey. He also acknowledged the efforts of Turkey in its motto of “Health For All” as well as its assistance for Syrian and Iraqi refugees.
