WFP coordinated Aid flight reached Afghanistan

Kabul, 7 September 2021 (TDI): On the morning of 6th September 2021, a plane carrying WHO Health essentials reached Mazar-i-Sharif, Afghanistan. The special flight was the first of 3 flights of the World Food Program (WFP) planned to provide Health supplies.

The first flight contains up to 53 metric tons of essential items. The special shipment contains 780 medical kits. Additional 50 kits to help treat severe malnutrition in children were also part of the shipment. WHO teams received and prepared the supplies to dispatch to the medical centers. The health supplies are delivered as soon as possible to assist the workers in need. The WHO working in Afghanistan expressed their gratitude for WFP’s efforts to help the people of Afghanistan.
