Beijing, 11 September 2021 (TDI): Chinese Foreign Minister (FM) Wang Yi has started the tour of Asian countries under the title of “Asian Friendship Tour”.
Wang Yi’s first stop is Vietnam where he arrived on Friday and this tour will of three days.
Minister discussed the matters pertaining to the post-pandemic recovery and supporting Vietnam in its fight against coronavirus.
Wang is set to visit Cambodia afterward for the inauguration of the US$160 million China-sponsored Morodok Techo National Stadium, followed by a visit to Singapore. Lastly, he will visit Seoul on Tuesday for parleys with the South Korean FM Chung Eui-Yong and President Moon Jae-in.
This tour is a step forward by Beijing in bolstering and fortifying its relation with Southeast Asian neighbors.
Chinese FM spokesperson on Tuesday noted that Wang Yi is expected to carry out deep and strategic communication during his Asian Friendship Tour.
