Washington (TDI): Vice President of the United States JD Vance on Tuesday slammed the Biden Administration’s strategy to deal with the Ukraine war.
He also criticized European countries’ plan to send peacekeeping troops to Ukraine and provide economic and military assistance.
The Vice President slammed not only the Biden Administration’s strategy on Ukraine, but he also openly criticized the European countries’ approach to deal with the Ukraine war.
When Biden Administration’s officials were asked about their policy on Ukraine, they said, “Well, we are just going to send them weapons as long as we can, and hope eventually they can turn the tide,” Vice President Vance said.
He further criticized the previous US government and said, “Hope is not a strategy. Throwing money and ammunition at a terrible conflict is not a strategy. The only guy in town with a strategy is the President of the United States, and everybody needs to follow his lead.”
While expressing his views on Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s meeting with the US President Donald Trump, he said that there was a “lack of respect” and “a sense of entitlement.”
He further said that President Zelenskyy “showed a clear unwillingness to engage in the PEACE process, which President Trump has said, is the policy of the American people and their President. That’s the real breakdown.”

Vice President Vance defended the policy of the current US government and stated that President Donald Trump is taking a much more “realistic perspective” in saying this can’t go on forever.
However, if President Zelenskyy is “serious” in talking about peace, then the door is open for him, he noted.

He also brushed aside the peace plan proposed by Britain and France of having a ceasefire, and sending peacekeeping troops to Ukraine, when necessary.
He said that the Europeans were doing a “disservice to the Ukrainians” by funding this war.
He stressed that the European leaders need to be realistic about the situation.
Publicly, the European leaders may show support for President Zelenskyy, but in private, they all say that this can’t go on forever.
European leaders should convey to the Ukrainian President that “the bloodshed, the killing, the economic devastation” is making everything worse, and peace is the only way forward, the Vice President stated.
Responding to President Zelenskyy’s demand for security guarantees, he said, “If you want to actually ensure that (Russian President) Vladimir Putin does not invade Ukraine again, the very best security guarantee is to give Americans economic upside in the future of Ukraine.”
It will ensure that the United States has an economic interest in the security of Ukraine.
“That is a way better security guarantee than 20,000 troops from some random country that hasn’t fought a war in 30 or 40 years,” he said.
Vance’s comments sparked an outrage from politicians in London and Paris.
He later clarified his comments and stated that it was “absurdly dishonest” to suggest he had criticized French and British troops.
He said, “I don’t even mention the UK or France in the clip, both of whom have fought bravely alongside the US over the last 20 years, and beyond.”

The Summit was attended by the European leaders, President Zelenskyy, the President of EU Commission, NATO Secretary General, and Turkish Foreign Minister.
Prime Minister Keir Starmer, French President Emmanuel Macron, and President Zelenskyy agreed on a four-point formula.
It included: providing economic and military aid to Ukraine, Protecting Ukraine’s sovereignty in any future negotiations, arming Ukraine against future Russian aggression, and forming a “coalition of the willing” to defend Ukraine.
The British Prime Minister also signed a £1.6 billion Defense Deal to bolster Ukraine’s defense capabilities and expressed his willingness to deploy peacekeeping troops in Ukraine.
