Phnom Penh, 1 November 2021 (TDI): Cambodia donated approximately 200,000 Sinopharm Vaccine doses to Vietnam. The Health Ministry Secretary of State, Or Vandine on the behalf of Cambodia’s Prime Minister Hun Sen, made the donation. The ceremony was held at the Bavet-Moc Bai border gate between Vietnam and Cambodia; in the Svay Rieng province. Earlier the two countries also collaborated amicably on border demarcation.
Whilst speaking at the ceremony, the Cambodian Secretary Of State said that the donation symbolizes strong relations between the two neighboring nations. The vaccine will help the Vietnamese government to fight Covid-19 and improve public health in the country.
Or Vandine expressed that the vaccine will successfully contribute to Vietnam’s virus prevention, particularly in local areas bordering Cambodia. The hard work and resilience of the Vietnamese government, as well as its people, will vanquish the pandemic. Resultantly the economy will rejuvenate.
Whereas Tran Van Thuan, the Vietnamese representative appreciated the support of the Cambodian government for the prevention of the Covid-19 pandemic in his country. He said that the donated vaccines will curb the spread of the virus.
