Islamabad, 17 September 2021 (TDI): On Thursday, the Administrator of the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), Samantha Power appreciated the Agency’s climate-friendly efforts in Pakistan, given the recent conclusion of the Sustainable Energy for Pakistan (SEP) project.
The Sustainable Energy for Pakistan (SEP) project has enhanced the state’s renewable energy capacity. For instance, the project has increased the wind and solar capacity by approximately 50%, with more than 900 million US dollars in private investment. It has enabled 860 megawatts of solar and wind projects. The USAID Administrator Samantha Power appreciated the Agency’s climate-friendly initiative in Pakistan that comes with a 32 million US dollars investment in energy systems.
The officials from both states recently celebrated the conclusion of the four-year Sustainable Energy for Pakistan project in August 2021. The project was launched in Pakistan with the efforts of the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID), aiming to provide more affordable, and climate-friendly power to the country’s national energy grid.
