# US Tells Israel Iran Ceasefire Will End Sunday, Report Says

**Washington (TDI):** The United States has informed Israel that the current ceasefire arrangement with Iran, recently extended, will end on Sunday, according to Israeli media.

Israeli public broadcaster KAN reported that US officials communicated to Tel Aviv that President Donald Trump’s timeframe for Iran is approaching its deadline.

A diplomatic source cited by the broadcaster said Trump appears to be aiming for an understanding with Tehran rather than prolonging open-ended negotiations. However, Israeli officials reportedly believe that achieving any breakthrough by Sunday is unlikely.

Some Israeli sources also pointed to confusion in Washington’s approach, saying they have been learning about US decisions mainly through media reports and Trump’s social media posts.

A White House official told Fox News that the ceasefire could last between three and five days, while Israeli sources said the situation remains uncertain and heavily dependent on Trump’s next steps.

Earlier, Trump announced an extension of the ceasefire after a request from Pakistan, stating it would remain in effect until Iran presents what he described as a “unified proposal.” The ceasefire followed Pakistan-mediated talks between the US and Iran earlier this month.

Meanwhile, tensions in the region continue to rise. The US military has reportedly intercepted and redirected several Iranian-flagged oil tankers in Asian waters, including near Malaysia, India, and Sri Lanka, as part of efforts to enforce a maritime blockade on Iran. Some vessels were carrying crude oil, while others were partially loaded or fully loaded at the time of interception.

US Central Command said that dozens of ships have been ordered to turn back or return to port since the blockade began. Iran, however, has also taken retaliatory maritime actions, including seizing vessels in the Strait of Hormuz, further escalating tensions.

The Strait of Hormuz, through which a significant portion of global oil trade flows, remains highly disrupted, contributing to volatility in global energy markets. Brent crude prices have stayed above $100 per barrel amid fears of prolonged instability.

At the same time, diplomatic efforts remain uncertain, with no clear timeline for resumed peace talks between Washington and Tehran.
