Karachi, 1 April 2023 (TDI): Acting Counsel General (CG), Liam O’Flanagan recently hosted an Iftar celebration at the United States (US) Consulate in Karachi to mark the start of the holy month of Ramazan.
The event brought together leaders from various faiths and communities to promote interfaith harmony, diversity, and inclusion.

In the long run, the US Consulate Karachi’s Iftar celebration is a testament to the US commitment to promoting religious tolerance and understanding around the world.
Speaking at the event, Acting CG Liam O’Flanagan emphasized the importance of coming together to celebrate differences and recognize shared humanity.
“As we break our fast together, we are reminded of the values that unite us – compassion, empathy, and generosity,” said Acting CG Liam.
“The US is committed to promoting interfaith harmony and inclusion, and events like this are a small but important step towards achieving that goal.” he further added.
To mention, the Iftar celebration was attended by leaders from various faiths, including representatives from the Muslim, Christian, Hindu, and Sikh communities.
Notably, the event provided an opportunity for participants to learn about each other’s traditions, share experiences, and build bridges of understanding.
“It’s a reminder that despite our differences, we are all part of the same human family,” said one of the attendees, Rev. Samuel David, a Christian leader.
“Events like this are so important because they bring people together from different backgrounds and allow us to connect on a personal level.”
For the record, the US Consulate Karachi has a long history of promoting interfaith harmony and inclusion in Pakistan.
