# US Agenda Item 11 Sustainability of Outer Space Activities

**Vienna, 06 February 2024 (TDI): **The US Agenda Item 11, reflects on the Sustainability of Outer Space Activities. The US Statement has been prepared for US Representative Ryan Guglietta by US Mission Unvie on February 02.

The US Mission to the UN (Vienna) released a written statement that said, “The US promotes long-term sustainability (LTS) of outer space through active dialogue, collaboration, and capacity building in the UN Forum.”

According to the report, the US welcomes the chance to present its views under the Outer Space Agenda. Moreover, it is vital to ensure the long-term sustainability of space so that all nations may continue to benefit from the space for the climate. It further includes earth observation, disaster management, sustainable development, and more.

In December 2023, the National Space Council released the ‘US Novel Space Activities Authorization and Supervision Framework. This framework aims to prepare the US government to shape the future space regulatory environment.

The Space Priorities Framework of 2021 builds a long history of the US under capable leadership of Umamaheshwaran.

The Long-Term Sustainability (LTS) Working Group will convene a workshop on February 6th, specifically designed to showcase the contributions of the commercial sector to achieving long-term space sustainability.
