The phenomenon of Digitalization is changing our lives with unprecedented speed. New technologies are revolutionizing the way businesses operate, how people connect and exchange information and how they interact with the public and private sectors.

Mashrou3i project in Tunisia
Mahrou3i is a joint project of the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), the Italian Agency for Development Cooperation (AICS), the HP Foundation, and the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO). The project fosters youth entrepreneurship in Tunisia. It supports the creation and growth of enterprises.
Mashrou3i project provides remote deep-dive business coaching to entrepreneurs in business plan development. It also gives access to digital marketing, communications, and finance.
In Tunisia, as in many countries around the world, the COVID-19 pandemic has accelerated digital transformation. UNIDO covers different workshops under the project. It provides support to entrepreneurs during the coronavirus crisis and an opportunity to strengthen their professional network.
UNIDO’s Director General Gerd Müller stated, “We see that digitalization is a powerful tool for disseminating entrepreneurial culture and learning.”
Significance of Digitalization
Digitalization is a crucial aspect of UNIDO’s agenda as it helps in bringing innovation. The phenomenon of digitalization reduces hunger by helping businesses from farm to fork.
In addition, it prevents climate breakdown by using renewable energy and energy efficiency to reduce industrial greenhouse gas emissions.
Moreover, digitalization supports sustainable supply chains so that developing country producers get a fair deal and scarce resources are preserved.
In short, digitalization helps to work faster and smarter, and deliver more value to customers.
