UNICEF partners with Girl Guides of South Africa

-

Pretoria, 12 October 2021 (TDI): UNICEF and Girl Guides South Africa have announced partnership to encourage girls’ involvement in society.

This Partnership launched on International Day of the Girl to help putting girls at the center of the COVID-19 response and recovery. Likewise, to support activities of girls and young women in the construction of a safer, fairer, and better South Africa.

Christine Muhigana, UNICEF Representative stated that the organization is glad to collaborate with Girl Guides South Africa. In that way, they respond to the specific challenges that girls and young women confront in their daily lives.

The U-Report tool allows girls and young women’s voices to be heard, and UNICEF and partners can respond by providing the information and resources they need to improve their well-being. This is especially important because COVID-19 has had such a broad impact on girls and young women, Christine Muhigana added.

U-Report is a messaging platform that allows young people to express themselves on issues.
