Islamabad, 3 September 2021 (TDI): UNDP Pakistan on 3rd September met Syed Ibrar Hussain, Additional Chief Secretary Gilgit-Baltistan as well as GLOF-ll Team.
Golf-II Pakistan is an initiative taken by UNDP Pakistan and the Ministry of Climate Change. Golf-II project is entrusted with the management of Glacial Lake Outburst Flood (GLOF), and to guarantee the risk reduction in Northern Pakistan.
This Initiative of UNDP and the Ministry of Climate Change is supported by Green Climate Fund.
The main agenda of the meeting is to discuss the UNDP developmental projects in the region of Gilgit Baltistan.
The meeting also deliberated upon the UNDP efforts in the management and the conservation of the naturally rich provinces of the North. The meeting talks about the measures that should be taken to preserve the natural resources and ensure their proper management.
