Kabul, 6 September 2021 (TDI): On 6th September 2021, UN Relief Chief met the Taliban Leadership in Kabul. UN Relief Chief Martin Griffith reached Kabul upon the request of United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres.
On UN Relief Chief Visit, Martin Griffiths had a meeting with Mullah Baradar. Other representatives of the Taliban Government in Kabul were also present in the meeting. The main agenda of the meeting was to discuss with Taliban leadership the engagement with UN authorities to deal with the humanitarian crisis. UN Relief Chief Martin Griffiths upon meeting also restated the UN unwavering support and assistance to the people of Afghanistan and the displaced refugees. UN reaffirmed the government to provide neutral protection to those in need with the help of Taliban Leadership.
