# Trump, Netanyahu Hold Tense Call on Revised Iran Peace Proposal: Report

**Washington (TDI):** A revised Iran peace proposal drafted by Pakistan and Qatar led to a tense phone call between US President Donald Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Axios reported, as diplomatic efforts continue over a potential end to the Iran conflict.

The report said Pakistan and Qatar, along with several other regional actors, helped draft an updated peace memorandum aimed at narrowing differences between Washington and Tehran while the US weighed whether to pursue negotiations or consider military action.

Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu is reported to remain strongly sceptical of the diplomatic track and is said to favour renewed military pressure on Iran to weaken its nuclear and military infrastructure.

US President Donald Trump, however, has publicly indicated that a deal may still be possible, while also warning that the situation could quickly revert to conflict if talks fail.

“The only question is do we go and finish it up or are they gonna be signing a document. Let’s see what happens,” Trump said while speaking at the Coast Guard Academy.

He later described the situation as being “right on the borderline” between a negotiated agreement and a return to escalation, adding that he maintains a strong working relationship with Netanyahu.

According to Axios, Pakistan, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Türkiye, and Egypt have all contributed in varying degrees to refining the proposal, which aims to close gaps between the positions of Iran and the United States.

A Qatari diplomat was quoted as saying that Doha continues to support Pakistani-led mediation efforts and remains committed to de-escalation across the region.

Iranian officials, meanwhile, said discussions are ongoing based on what they described as Iran’s 14-point framework, with Pakistan’s Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi visiting Tehran as part of continuing diplomatic engagement.

The proposed framework is said to include clearer commitments on Iran’s nuclear program and phased access to frozen Iranian financial assets, according to sources cited in the report.

However, it remains uncertain whether Tehran will accept the revised draft or significantly alter its position in ongoing negotiations.

Axios also reported that Trump and Netanyahu held a lengthy and at times difficult phone call earlier this week, during which differences emerged over how to proceed.

Trump suggested mediators were preparing a “letter of intent” between the US and Iran that would pave the way for a temporary ceasefire and a 30-day negotiation period covering nuclear issues and the Strait of Hormuz.

Israeli sources, however, indicated strong disagreement from Netanyahu’s side, with one source describing his reaction as highly agitated following the call.
