Islamabad (TDI): The Thai Embassy hosted the opening ceremony of Maulid Nabi 2025, an annual commemorative event organized by the Thai Student Association with support from the Embassy.
Presiding over the ceremony, Thai Ambassador Rongvudhi Virabutr emphasized the enduring relevance of Prophet Muhammad’s teachings, especially regarding the pursuit of knowledge, perseverance, and the preservation of cultural identity.
In his remarks, the Ambassador delivered three core messages aimed at inspiring the Thai student community in Pakistan.
First, he stressed that knowledge carries a responsibility that extends beyond personal achievement and should be shared for the benefit of families, communities, and society at large. He noted that academic excellence must be accompanied by a sense of duty and ethical grounding.
Second, he highlighted that perseverance is not only a practical virtue but also an integral part of faith, reminding students that challenges encountered in academic and personal life can become stepping stones to long-term success. By maintaining determination and resilience, he added, students uphold values deeply rooted in Islamic teachings.
Third, the Ambassador encouraged students to preserve their cultural roots and identity, describing these as essential tools for fostering cross-cultural understanding.
As representatives of Thailand abroad, students play a vital role in building bridges between Thai and Pakistani communities, promoting mutual respect and cooperation.

Concluding his address, the Ambassador expressed hope that the Prophet’s teachings would continue to guide the younger generation toward a future defined by strong faith, moral clarity, and dedication to learning.
As part of the occasion, the Ambassador presented a financial contribution to support the Thai Student Association’s activities, aimed at enriching the educational and cultural experiences of its members.
The Office of the Thai Defence Attaché in Islamabad also extended financial support, reinforcing the Embassy’s commitment to student development and community engagement.
The event, held annually to commemorate the birth of Prophet Muhammad, serves as a meaningful platform for Thai students in Pakistan to reflect on shared values, strengthen unity, and celebrate cultural and religious heritage.
