Sri Lanka receives Covid-19 Medical Equipment from Korea

Colombo, 7 October 2021 (TDI): With the help of the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA), Korea donated a consignment to Sri Lanka. The consignment included PCR detection kits and 5 PCR machines for rapid testing valued at USD 450,000.

A ceremony was organized at the Foreign Ministry in Colombo to hand over the donation from the Republic of Korea. Foreign Secretary, Jayanath Colombage received the donation from Korean Ambassador, Woonjin Jeong. Channa Jayasumana, State Minister of Pharmaceutical Production, Supply, and Regulation, and R.M.S.K. Ratnayake, Secretary of the State Ministry, also received the donation.

This generous donation is in addition to COVID 19-related medical equipment donations. Friendship and cooperation are strong between Sri Lanka and Korea. The Republic of Korea has provided crucial COVID 19-related support to Sri Lanka since the onset of the pandemic.
