Washington, 20 August 2021 (TDI): On the night of August 18, US Secretary of State Antony J. Blinken communicated with the Foreign Minister of Canada Marc Garneau on the issue of resettlement of vulnerable groups in Afghanistan.

Secretary Blinken acknowledged the American and Canadian efforts to provide safety to their nationals in Afghanistan. He also praised the government of Canada for relocating about twenty thousand Afghans. Both admitted that their coordination is crucial for handling the security issues in Afghanistan.
