RIYADH 31 August 2024 (TDI): Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, has conveyed his condolences to Sudanese Transitional Sovereignty Council Chairman, General Abdul-Fattah Al-Burhan, following the tragic collapse of a dam in Red Sea State, which resulted in multiple deaths and injuries, according to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA).
The King expressed his deepest sympathies to the chairman, the bereaved families, and the people of Sudan, wishing a speedy recovery for those injured in the incident.
Additionally, His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, also sent a message of condolence to General Al-Burhan.
The Crown Prince extended his heartfelt sympathies to the chairman and the families affected by the tragedy, hoping for the swift recovery of the wounded, as reported by the SPA.

Floodwaters have inundated numerous communities and villages in northern Sudan over the past three days, causing widespread devastation. The floods have claimed dozens of lives and led to the collapse of hundreds of homes.
According to Qureshi Hussein, spokesperson for the Sudanese Civil Defense, 31 people have lost their lives in the northern region.
