New Delhi, 12 September 2023 (TDI): In a significant diplomatic meeting held in New Delhi, the Saudi Crown Prince Mohammad bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud met with the Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi to reaffirm Saudi-Indian commitment to regional peace and security.
The two leaders discussed the ongoing crisis in Yemen and commended each other’s efforts in facilitating humanitarian aid and encouraging dialogue among Yemeni parties.

Both sides emphasized the importance of supporting the Presidential Leadership Council in Yemen and urged all parties involved to engage constructively with international efforts aimed at resolving the crisis and embracing peace initiatives.
Highlighting the significance of achieving lasting peace in the Middle East, Prince Mohammed bin Salman and Prime Minister Modi underscored their support for the Arab Peace Initiative and relevant United Nations resolutions.
They expressed hope for a just and comprehensive peace that safeguards the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people.
The leaders stressed the importance of achieving security and stability in Afghanistan and forming an inclusive government that represents the diverse spectrum of the Afghan population.
They strongly condemned the use of Afghanistan as a platform for terrorist and extremist groups, emphasizing the need for concerted international efforts to combat drug trafficking and provide humanitarian aid to the Afghan people.
Both sides affirmed their commitment to the Strategic Partnership Council (SPC) and agreed to hold the next meeting within the next two years as per the terms of the Agreement for SPC.
At the conclusion of the visit, Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman expressed his gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the warm reception and hospitality extended to him and his delegation during their stay in India.
In turn, Prime Minister Modi thanked the Crown Prince and his delegation for their visit, extending best wishes for the health and happiness of the Crown Prince and continued progress and prosperity for the people of Saudi Arabia.
