Rwandan HC Receives Special Exhibitor Award at Global Destinations Expo 2025

Islamabad (TDI): Rwanda made a notable impression at the Global Destinations Expo 2025, on Monday, where the Rwandan High Commissioner in Pakistan, Fatou Harerimana, highlighted the country’s tourism offerings, rich cultural heritage and investment opportunities.

Harerimana also received a Special Exhibitor Award, presented by the Coordinator to the Prime Minister on Tourism, who was the Chief Guest at the event.

The Global Destinations Expo, jointly organized by Discover Pakistan and the Pakistan Tourism Development Corporation (PTDC), brought together more than 50 foreign embassies and international delegations.

The event served as a platform for participating countries to present their cultural identity, promote travel destinations and explore avenues for tourism-related collaboration.

The opening ceremony was attended by senior officials, diplomats and tourism professionals, emphasizing Pakistan’s efforts to strengthen global tourism connections.

At the exhibition floor, countries hosted dedicated stalls featuring cultural displays, traditional crafts, promotional brochures and national cuisines.

Many embassies also used the opportunity to provide informational material on investment prospects, visa processes and emerging areas of bilateral cooperation.

Visitors from the tourism sector, academia, and general public were able to explore diverse global traditions and discover new international travel possibilities. The expo concluded with a ceremony in which participating diplomats and exhibitors were acknowledged for their contributions.

Rwanda’s participation held particular significance as it marked an effort to enhance its visibility in South Asia. Fatou Harerimana’s presentation of Rwanda’s tourism potential aligned with the country’s broader goal of expanding its global outreach.

Rwanda is increasingly positioning itself as a destination for eco-tourism, wildlife experiences, cultural exploration and sustainable investment.

Showcasing these strengths in Islamabad helped build connections with Pakistani travelers, entrepreneurs and tour operators, many of whom are seeking new and emerging destinations.
