Beijing, 14 February 2022 (TDI): ROC has secured gold in men’s cross-country skiing 4x10km relay at Beijing Winter Olympics. The event took place on 13 February 2022.
However, Norway won silver while France claimed bronze at the event. It is pertinent to note that the ROC team consisted of Alexander Bolshunov, Denis Spitsoc, Alexey Chervotkin, and Sergey Ustiugov.
Russian President Congratulated the Team
Russian President, Vladimir Putin, extended congratulations to the ROC team for winning the men’s 4×15 cross-country skiing race at the 24th Beijing Winter Olympics.

Competition Key Timeline Events
ROC team completed the race in a time of 1:54:50:7. And, it is the third gold for the ROC team in cross-country skiing. Overall, it is the seventh medal of ROC at the Beijing Winter Olympics.
Along these lines, Team Norway finished the race in a time of 1:54:50.7 while France took time of 1:56:07. Bolshunov, Chervotkin, and Spitsov were all part of the team that claimed silver at PyeongChang 2018 as well.
At Podium, Ustiugov also joined the team at Beijing Winter Olympics. Further, Alexander Bolshunov is the most decorated men’s skier who won his first gold in the men’s 30km skiathlon.

During the event, Ustiugov was stunned to see the match results. His team won just with a difference of one minute. He claimed that he felt empty inside but will feel something while seeing the medal.
However, his teammate Spitsov said that this victory has fulfilled his dream. He further highlighted that he has never experienced such jitters that he could win this match.
Besides, he mentioned that he was much concerned about the service but they performed their work brilliantly. Therefore, he exclaimed that they are now champions. Perhaps, it is the dream of every Olympic athlete.
Team Norway at Beijing Winter Olympics
One of the key members of the Norwegian squad, Johannes Hoesflot Klaebo, pointed out the unique quality of relay teams. He said that in relays, athletes work as a team and celebrate together as a team. And, it is the beauty of the race.
Along these lines, Johannes Klaebo mentioned that it is fun to race the relay and do it together. However, he remarked that his team is satisfied with the results of the game. Nevertheless, his team is going to prepare for the next game after enjoying this victory.
