Qatari Foreign Minister talks with Taliban Leadership


Kabul, 13 September 2021 (TDI): Foreign Minister of Qatar, Mohammad bin Al-Thani held a meeting with the Taliban leadership team and cabinet members. It also included Prime Minister Mullah Mohammad Hassan Akhund.

At the Presidential Palace, Al-Thani and his delegation met with the Taliban government. The two sides discussed Qatar’s humanitarian support to Afghanistan. The focus of the meeting was to shed light on economic developments, diplomatic ties, and interaction with the foreign world. Some discussions were also held on Doha Agreement. Taliban expressed that the Doha Agreement was a milestone achieved in history. They said that all parties should implement it.

The Foreign Minister also met with former President Hamid Karzai and Abdullah Abdullah, Head of the High Council for National Reconciliation. In their meeting, they discussed the recent events in Afghanistan. They talked about the establishment of an inclusive government.
