Rome, 15 June 2024 (TDI): Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s visit to Italy to attend the G7 Summit on 13 June 2024. During this Summit, Prime Minister Trudeau met with different World leaders to advance shared progress and prosperity at the G7 summit.
On 14 June 2024, Prime Minister Trudeau concluded his two-day visit, during which he addressed various issues, such as Climate Change, Food Insecurity, Gender inequality, and more, with world leaders.
During this Summit, G7 leaders issued a joint declaration reiterating their support for the Middle East and Ukraine and committed to a free and open Indo-Pacific.
Moreover, G7 leaders also agreed on the importance of economic development, partnering with African countries, reinforcing food and energy security, etc.
Prime Minister Justin Trudeau highlighted a “$686.9 million package of measures to strengthen climate resiliency, foster more inclusive communities, and move forward on climate action around the world.”
Moreover, “Canada is allocating $200 million to the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD).”
Additionally, “Delivering a $360 million repayable contribution to the Asian Development Bank to establish the Canadian Climate and Nature Fund for the Private Sector in Asia.”
Further, “Investing $6.9 million through the International Development Research Centre (IDRC).”
In addition to this, “Investing $100 million in the International Finance Corporation’s Facility for Gender Equality, Resilience, Opportunity, and Inclusion Worldwide.”

Lastly, “Providing $20 million to TradeMark Africa and the Centre for International Studies and Cooperation to help ensure that everyone shares in the benefits of free and open commerce.”
According to reports, “Prime Minister Justin Trudeau met with the President of France, Emmanuel Macron, at the G7 Italy Summit. The leaders discussed the recent European elections and the situation in the Middle East and Ukraine.”
Moreover, “Prime Minister Trudeau met with the Chancellor of Germany, Olaf Scholz, to discuss shared priorities, including supporting Ukraine in the face of Russia’s ongoing aggression, advancing clean energy, and enhancing energy security.”
Additionally, Trudeau met with Ukraine’s President Zelensky, Prime Minister of Japan Fumio, President of the EU Commission Leyen, Germany’s Chancellor Scholz, and many more.
Lastly, Prime Minister Trudeau announced that “The next G7 Leaders’ Summit will be hosted here in Canada in Kananaskis, Alberta in 2025.”
