Riyadh, 11 November 2023 (TDI): Anwar-Ul-Haq Kakar, caretaker Prime Minister of Pakistan, on Friday met with the President of Palestine, Mahmud Abbas during his official visit to Riyadh, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
Prime Minister Kakar is on a three-day official visit to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia where he is to participate in the eighth Extraordinary Islamic Summit, convened on the invitation of Saudi Arabia to discuss the unprecedented Israeli aggression against Palestinian people.
During the meeting, the Prime Minister conveyed the unflinching solidarity of Pakistan with the Palestinian people.
He strongly criticized the indiscriminate use of force by Israeli occupation forces specifically the bombings of hospitals, refugee camps, schools, and residential buildings.
This brutal aggression against Palestinian people has resulted in the loss of more than ten thousand precious lives and the forced displacement of Palestinian families.
In response, President Abbas appreciated Pakistan’s expression of solidarity in this challenging time and its principled stance on the right of self-determination of the Palestinian people.
Both leaders stressed the urgency of an immediate and unconditional ceasefire, an end to the siege of Gaza, and smooth delivery of vital humanitarian aid and medical assistance to the affected population.
The leaders emphasized the need for international collaboration to stop Israel from further bloodshed in Palestine, especially the Gaza Strip.

Prime Minister Kakar and President Abbas appreciated the timeliness of the Extraordinary Summit of OIC and appealed to the global community to take resolute measures to end the suffering of the Palestinian people.
They particularly mentioned the United Nations and its pertinent organizations, to take meaningful actions to uphold principles of justice and humanity and to end the carnage in Palestine.
Prime Minister Kakar assured Pakistan’s unwavering commitment to a fair and enduring resolution of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.
He added that the resolution was to be by the two-state solution, leading to the establishment of a sovereign and viable Palestinian state with Al Quds Sharif as its capital, along borders that existed before 1967 enshrined in several OIC resolutions.
Considering the recent humanitarian situation in Gaza, the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) will hold an Extraordinary Islamic Summit on the invitation of Saudi Arabia on Saturday, 11th November 2023 in Riyadh.
It aims to produce a joint Islamic position and action in the face of the brutal and ongoing Israeli aggression against the Palestinian people.
