Ashgabat, 5 January 2023 (TDI): The President of Turkmenistan, Serdar Berdimuhamedov will be visiting China today at the invitation of the Chinese President, Xi Jinping.
According to the Foreign Ministry of China, the President of Turkmenistan will arrive in the country on the 5 of January and end his visit on the 6 of January 2022. He will arrive in Beijing and will be welcomed by the President’s convoy.
He will be presented with the Presidential guard at the state house where he will meet a host of others including the President. Other necessary customs will be performed as they will be set to undertake various engagements.

This visit is the first state visit of the President of Turkmenistan to China. During the visit, he is expected to hold a series of high-level meetings and sign several documents.
History has it that the People’s Republic of China was the first country to establish diplomatic relations with Turkmenistan. This year will mark the 31st anniversary of bilateral relations between them.
They will also use the opportunity to discuss several issues on economic development such as trade terms. Seeking to promote China-Turkmenistan trade relations.
This will also be an opportunity to strengthen their long-standing relations. China is seeking to develop stronger relations with countries of the region and likewise Turkmenistan.
China-Turkmenistan relations
It is pertinent to note that for all these years, China and Turkmenistan have continued to stay strong. Both countries continue to be one of the biggest trade partners in the international community.
In military assistance, both countries promise to help each other to promote unity and development. The region has been facing a series of terrorist attacks and they have both promised to fight those acts.
The visit of the President of Turkmenistan, Serdar Berdimuhamedov will go over all these issues with his counterpart, the President of the People’s Republic of China.
