Islamabad, 13 April 2022 (TDI): The President of Palestine, Mahmoud Abbas congratulated Mian Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif on his election as the new Prime Minister of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan.
The congratulatory message was shared through a cable. President Abbas extended his sincere felicitations to Prime Minister Sharif on his election. Mian Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif was elected as Prime Minister on 11 April.
The Palestinian President wished him success in accomplishing his duties and fulfilling the aspirations and goals of the Pakistani people. Aside from that, Mahmoud Abbas also lauded the deep-rooted and cordial bilateral ties between Pakistan and Palestine.
The relationship between the two stems from the principles of solidarity, brotherhood, and mutual appreciation. Along these lines, President Abbas emphasized his eagerness to jointly collaborate for strong relations in the interest of the two countries.
Likewise, he also appreciated the stance of Pakistan on the support of the Palestinian people and their just cause. Ahmed Ameen, the Ambassador of Palestine to the Islamic Republic of Pakistan also congratulated the newly elected Prime Minister.
In a tweet through his official Twitter handle, he stated that “he was pleased to extend congratulations to Shahbaz Sharif for the confidence placed in him by the Pakistani Parliament.”

He went on to further comment that Palestine was honored to extend congratulations and prays to God Almighty to grant you victory in facing contemporary challenges.
In the same vein, Ambassador Ahmed Ameen wished success to the new Prime Minister in achieving the aspirations and goals of the Pakistani people, preserving their achievements, and consolidating their stability, unity, and security.
