Astana, 14 October 2022 (TDI): Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, President of the Republic of Kazakhstan held discussions with Recep Tayyip Erdogan, the President of the Republic of Turkey. The latter is on a state visit to Kazakhstan to attend the 6th CICA summit 2022.

Both state representatives met at the Akorda residence, where an official ceremony was conducted to welcome the Turkish President and his delegation.

The President of Kazakhstan appreciated the counterpart for accepting the invitation. He expressed hope that the meeting will help in paving the way for further cooperation between the two states.

He also stated that the discussion on the agenda of the forum will lead to the finalization of mutual agreements between Kazakhstan and Turkiye.

The President of Turkiye highlighted the significance of two consecutive scheduled elite meetings including the fourth meeting of the High-Level Strategic Cooperation Council on 12th October, and the CICA summit on 13th October.

Recep Tayyip Erdogan stressed that these would be supportive in carrying out the reforms under the prestigious leadership of Kassym-Jomart Tokayev and would contribute to the maintenance of peace and well-being of the people of Kazakhstan.

The President also wished his counterpart success in the upcoming elections of Kazakhstan. He also stated that Turkiye and Kazakhstan are strategic partners.

For Turkiye, security, stability, territorial integrity, and improving the economic well-being of Kazakhstan is of specific importance. He also expressed gratitude to the president of Kazakhstan for his hospitality. Both representatives also played table tennis.

Order of Dostyk I awarded to the President of Turkey

In an official ceremony, later on, the President of Kazakhstan awarded the Order of Dostyk I to the President of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdogan.

Kassym-Jomart Tokayev stated that the Turkish President is a true leader who not only led his country forward but also enhanced its esteem and potential all over the world.

The President called Turkiye. the most reliable, closest, and strategic partner of Kazakhstan. He appreciated the significant contribution and tireless efforts of his Turkish counterpart.

He intended for further development of bilateral relations, eternal friendship, and brotherhood between the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Republic of Turkiye.
