Poland attends the meeting of V4 group+ Egypt

Budapest, 11 October 2021 (TDI): Szymon Szynkowski vel Sęk, the foreign minister of Poland with Mariusz Blaszczak, the defense minister of Poland attended the meeting of the Visegrad group, today in Budapest, Hungary.

The Visegrad group is a regional organization based on cooperation and consists of the Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland, and Slovakia. Czechoslovak, Hungary, and Poland founded the V4 group in 1991.

The organization aims to collaborate on the diplomatic, economic, and political interests of the region. The organization then also included the cultural interests of the countries. Visegrad group is also commonly known as V4.

The meeting which took place in Budapest also included Egypt, a Middle-Eastern state. Regional and global contemporary issues were discussed in the meeting. Security and migration issues were among their priorities as in recent times illegal migration has become one of the biggest problems of the European states.

The discussion also emphasized the economic cooperation of V4 with Egypt. They look forward to increasing their economic cooperation which can strengthen their relations. Tourism opportunities were also underlined to extend their economic and cultural ties. The crises of the Poland and Belarus border were also discussed. The migration issue was also discussed with the Foreign Minister of Egypt. They agreed on a collaboration to deal with this problem.

Furthermore, the V4 appreciated the Egyptian role in the Middle East for peacemaking. They acknowledged the effective role of Egypt in the Israeli-Palestinian negotiations. They also discussed the recent developments in Libya and Ethiopia which are looking for humanitarian assistance from the world.
