PM Netherlands visits Paris to discuss Afghanistan situation

Paris, 01 September 2021 (TDI): The PM of Netherlands Mark Rutte is on his official visit to Paris, France to meet with the President of France Emmanuel Macron and other high officials.

The agenda under discussion during this meeting was the situation in Afghanistan and the evacuation efforts carried out to safely bring people from Afghanistan. President Mark Rutte shared all details of his visit to France on Twitter. The Netherlands, France, Germany, UK, and Italy are working closely together to set up a joint post in Kabul and to bring more people to safety. Both the leaders also discussed the upcoming French – EU presidency and the strong bilateral ties between France and Netherlands.


In the first half of the day, the PM also had an introductory meeting with his French counterpart Jean Castex and spoke to various CEOs of Dutch companies located in France.
