PIA Fires Dubai Manager over Harassment Allegations

-

Islamabad, 12 September 2024 (TDI): After receiving several allegations of harassment directed at its regional sales manager in Dubai, Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) took appropriate action.

The accused was immediately fired from his position by PIA administration on receiving of the allegations.

Several complaints about the regional sales manager were filed by women about harassment, according to a PIA representative. The PIA administration picked up on these reports right away and started looking into the claims.

During the process of the investigation, the alleged manager has been fired from his job in Dubai. As promised, PIA will carry out a comprehensive investigation and take appropriate measures in response to the results.

After it was discovered that Iqbal Javed Bajwa’s FA certificate from the Lahore board was phony, PIA’s deputy station manager in the UK resigned a week ago.

Resignation was confirmed by a PIA representative, who said that Bajwa was asked to leave when his fake academic qualifications were discovered.

According to sources, Bajwa first resisted quitting even after his phony degree was discovered. He was introduced to PIA on July 30 in Birmingham by the finance manager. But ultimately, his family put pressure on him to step down.

The airline has a zero-tolerance policy on false credentials, the PIA official reaffirmed, and Bajwa’s matter was handled appropriately.
