Palestinian Prime Minister meets with Arab and European Representatives

Brussels, 28 October 2021 (TDI): The Prime Minister of Palestine, Mohammad Shtayyeh, attended a meeting with Arab Ambassadors accredited to Belgium and the European Union. 

The Prime Minister explained to the officials the latest political developments. These include Israeli violations against the Palestinian people and the increasing colonial settlement expansion. The official highlighted the expansion in the occupied Jerusalem. At the discussion, the Prime Minister pointed out the economic and financial challenges caused by the faltering donor support. 

The Palestinian leadership, headed by President Mahmoud Abbas, is determined to hold elections in all occupied Palestine as it would restore the democratic glow to the country. In this context, Premier Shtayyeh called on the international community to pressure Israel. According to him, it will allow the holding of elections in occupied Jerusalem. Furthermore, he asked the representatives to support the Palestinian cause and maintain the possibility of achieving the two-state solution.

The meeting was held in the presence of Riyad Al-Malki, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates of the State of Palestine, and Abdel Rahim Al-Farra, the Ambassador of the State of Palestine to the European Union, Belgium, and Luxembourg.
