Phnom Penh, 5 August 2022 (TDI): On the sidelines of the 29th ASEAN Regional Forum (ARF) Ministerial Meeting Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari met with Don Pramudwinai, Deputy Prime Minister, and the Foreign Minister of Thailand.

The meeting is being held in Phnom Penh, Cambodia. Foreign Ministers from around the world including the Chinese, US, Singaporean, Vietnamese, and many others are attending the event.

During the meeting, the two Foreign Ministers discussed the relationship between Thailand and Pakistan along with expressed optimism for the future of their two countries’ cooperation.

Moreover, they also expressed delight in the expansion of bilateral trade and commercial ties. The two sides are committed to establishing a broad-based bilateral partnership built on solid economic, political, and cultural cooperation.

This was reaffirmed by the Thai Foreign Minister. The importance of ASEAN in the Asia-Pacific region and Pakistan’s interest in stepping up its involvement with ASEAN were both emphasized by Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari.

While the duo also decided to keep in close communication to keep the momentum in bilateral ties after recognizing the value of routine high-level engagements between the two nations.

The Foreign Minister of Pakistan is in Cambodia to attend the Foreign Minister’s Meeting of the AFR. Bilawal Bhutto Zardari is attending the three-day 29th Ministerial meeting of the ASEAN regional forum (ARF) in Cambodia.

He is leading the Pakistan delegation in the meeting. Foreign Ministers and representatives of the 27 ARF member countries gathered to attend this meeting.

The Foreign Minister took part in discussions on Asia-Pacific-related political and security problems at the ARF Ministerial. He further held meetings with his other counterparts as well.
