Pakistan’s exports to Canada increase by 32 per cent

Toronto, 19 November 2021 (TDI): The Pakistan High Commission organized an online meeting with the Pakistani community living in Canada. The meeting was organized along with the Pakistani Consulates from Vancouver, Montreal and Toronto. The meeting was arranged to address the issues of Pakistani community living there.

In the meeting, the Pakistan High Commission announced that the export from Pakistan to Canada has increased by 32 per cent and has generated a higher revenue of $313 million. The revenue generated in the first nine months of this fiscal year 2021 is higher than that of last year. This shows the good economic trade relations between Pakistan and Canada.

This meeting aimed to explain people the efforts the Pakistani government is making to facilitate their people abroad. 

The Commission briefed people over the new policies adopted by the government of Canada. They explained that a webinar would be scheduled for 23 November 2021, that would educate people on the new opportunities Canada is providing. These policies include Student Direct Stream- this policy is about carrying out fast visa processes for students from different areas of the world. These countries include Pakistan as well.  

Furthermore, High Commission briefed people on the digital application called Roshan Digital Accounts. This application has been designed by the government of Pakistan to provide the Pakistani community with quick and easy electronic services. Moreover, they addressed peoples concern regarding the issuance of birth certificates of children being born in Canada, and the power of Attorney. 

The High Commission discussed the government’s plan of expanding tourism opportunities for foreigners. These opportunities include all sorts of tourism such as medical and religious.  

The relationship between Canada and Pakistan has always remained cordial. The recent investments in trade and economy are only adding to the advancement of a stronger and enduring partnership.
