Pakistan’s Ambassador to Brazil Met with Brazilian Delegation

Brasilia, 8 October 2021 (TDI): On Tuesday, Pakistan’s Ambassador to Brazil Ahmad Hussain Dayo held a meeting with the Brazilian delegation. The officials convened in Pakistan’s Embassy, Brasilia to discuss the humanitarian crises in Afghanistan and other issues of mutual concern.

Ambassador Dayo met with the Brazilian delegation, comprising Senator Soraya Thronicke, Minister of the Superior Military Court Maria Elizabeth Rocha, and Representative of the International Association of Women Judges (IAWJ) Dr. Amini Haddad. Meanwhile, President of the Defense Affairs and Strategic Studies Committee Marco Antonio Pinheiro Barbosa, and Legal Coordinator of Brazil-Afghanistan Coalition Sindy Oliveira Nobre Santiago also joined the discussion.

The purpose of the meeting was to discuss the situation of Afghan judges and refugees residing in Brazil, whose lives are threatened by the Taliban regime. Following the United States’ withdrawal from Kabul, the International Association of Women Judges and the Brazilian Superior Military Court made it possible to grant asylum to at-risk Afghans in Brazil. During the meeting, Marcos Antonio Barbosa also assured Ambassador Dayo that Brazil’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs would provide utmost humanitarian assistance to vulnerable individuals.
