Brasilia, 10 September 2021 (TDI): Pakistan’s Ambassador to Brazil Ahmed Hussain Dayo held a meeting with Augusto Souto Pestana, CEO of Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency (APEX Brasil), on Wednesday. The officials discussed the importance of bilateral trade and commercial activities for both countries.
Apex-Brasil aims to regulate various initiatives to promote Brazilian exports in foreign states. It includes the Agency’s efforts to schedule business meetings, trade-related activities, and ensuring participation of Brazilian companies at international trade fairs to instigate the state’s branding worldwide. During the meeting, the commercial partnership between Pakistan and Brazil was cross-examined, given the annual bilateral trade volume to have crossed over one billion US Dollars in total.
Brazil has long been operating as the key trading partner of Islamabad in South America. The two countries formally established the bilateral trade agreement in 1982 and are looking forward to enhancing the mutual trade volume in near future. Moreover, Brazil is regarded as the first Latin American state to establish diplomatic relations with Pakistan and open Brazilian Embassy in the country. Similarly, Pakistan discerned Brazil to open its first Embassy in Latin America back in 1951, respectively.
