Islamabad (TDI): Pakistan and the United Kingdom have agreed to deepen cooperation in the fields of counter-terrorism, cybercrime, and law enforcement, reaffirming their joint commitment to combating global security threats.
The understanding was reached during a meeting between Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi and Director General of the UK’s National Crime Agency (NCA) Graeme Biggar, held in Islamabad on Thursday.
The session was also attended by British High Commissioner Jane Marriott, senior officials from Pakistan’s Interior Ministry, the National Counter Terrorism Authority (NACTA), National Forensic Agency, NCCIA, Islamabad Police, and the Capital Administration.
Both sides discussed ways to enhance collaboration in critical areas including counter-terrorism, narcotics control, human trafficking, immigration, forensic sciences, and police capacity building. They agreed to expand training initiatives for Pakistani law enforcement and anti-narcotics officials with British support.
The two delegations also decided to improve coordination on combating online child exploitation and to accelerate progress on extradition agreements. According to officials, five Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs), covering extradition and other areas of mutual cooperation, are in the final stages of negotiations.

During the meeting, DG Graeme Biggar condemned the recent suicide attack in Islamabad, expressing condolences over the loss of lives.
Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi reiterated Pakistan’s determination to uproot terrorism, stressing that “the roots of terrorism lie in our neighboring country,” and that the international community “must not overlook Pakistan’s sacrifices and steadfastness in this fight.”
Naqvi further highlighted the importance of modern forensic tools and advanced training to enhance the performance of Pakistan’s security institutions. He also noted that Islamabad and London are actively working together to curb illegal immigration.

The NCA chief, Graeme Biggar, commended Pakistan’s continued efforts against narcotics trafficking and reaffirmed the UK’s commitment to maintaining close collaboration with Pakistan across multiple security and law enforcement fronts.
