Lahore, 11 November 2021, (TDI): Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS) prepared a report, based on the assessment of the Electric Vehicles and Battery Market of Pakistan. This report was presented to the United States Consulate General in Lahore yesterday.  

The report introduces investment opportunities and draws a collaborative model for companies based in the US. It aims to raise awareness and spark the United States’ interest in the Electric Automotive Industry of Pakistan.  

The report was prepared by LUMS and financially funded by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID). It highlights various important factors such as navigation policies, elaborates the condition of the Pakistani Market, observes regulations, and explains the components of success.  

In addition, it has gained attention at the official level. The US Consul General William K. Makaneole hopes that both the US and Pakistani companies collaborate to produce high-tech electric vehicles in Pakistan.

He further added that small businesses can play a powerful role in providing domestic assistance for the production of reasonable and High-Tec electric vehicles.  

The Vice-Chancellor of LUMS, Dr. Arshad Ahmad, appreciated the USAID’s funding for the preparation of this report. He encouraged the collaboration between Pakistan and the US and explained how such efforts play a vital role in strengthening their bilateral relations.  

Moreover, the meeting addressed the US-Pakistan collaboration regarding climate change and how to tackle environment-related issues at large.Â
