# Pakistan Rejects Reports of Targeted Deportations from UAE

**Islamabad (TDI):** The Ministry of Interior has strongly rejected reports alleging targeted deportations of Pakistani nationals from the United Arab Emirates, calling the claims “fabricated,” “misleading,” and part of a propaganda campaign.

The clarification came after social media posts and media reports, including a story cited by The New York Times, claimed that around 1,200 Pakistanis had been expelled from the UAE in recent weeks.

The report suggested that some deportations may have been linked to geopolitical tensions, particularly perceptions of Emirati dissatisfaction with Pakistan’s diplomatic stance regarding recent regional developments involving Iran and Gulf states. It also cited interviews with Pakistani workers and business figures in the UAE.

However, the Interior Ministry rejected these claims outright, stating that no country- or sect-specific deportations were taking place, according to The Express Tribune.

Officials said that any removals of foreign nationals from the UAE were part of normal immigration enforcement procedures, including cases involving visa violations, overstays, or incomplete documentation, and were not targeted at any nationality or community.

The ministry emphasized that Pakistani citizens continue to travel to and work in the UAE under regular visa and employment systems without discrimination. It also warned that false narratives circulating online were aimed at creating confusion and serving “ulterior motives.”

Authorities further noted that any issues involving Pakistani nationals abroad are handled through established diplomatic channels between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the relevant host country on a case-by-case basis.
