Islamabad (TDI): Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar said on Wednesday that Pakistan has avoided international isolation thanks to the current government’s active diplomacy at both bilateral and multilateral levels.
He made these remarks while addressing a press conference in Islamabad.
“No one can now claim that Pakistan is isolated,” Dar said, attributing this “success” to the country’s consistent and successful approach to diplomatic missions.

He congratulated the nation over the election of Pakistan as a non-permanent member of the UN Security Council for the 8th time.
“Pakistan has assumed the seat and it will fully play its role with the collaboration of other member states,” he added.
In response to a query, Dar said Pakistan was firmly committed to fighting terrorism. “Our first aim is to strengthen our commercial and economic ties with Afghanistan, which will strengthen our ties with the Central Asian nations,” he said.

“It takes two to tango,” he stated in reference to India. Dar added that Pakistan was ready to take a step forward as long as India showed goodwill. However, he emphasized that it needs to be a collaborative effort.
The Deputy Prime Minister was pleased with the improvement in economic data, pointing out that exports and remittances are increasing and inflation has dropped to five percent. He underlined that with sustained economic growth, Pakistan, a nuclear and missile state will attain its proper standing in the international world.
