Makhdum Khusro Bakhtyar, Federal Minister of Industries and Production arrived in Dubai for 5th Ministerial Level Abu Dhabi Dialogue.

Islamabad, 25 October 2021 (TDI): Makhdum Khusro Bakhtyar, Federal Minister of Industries and Production, arrived in Dubai on Monday 25 to head the Pakistani delegation at Sixth Ministerial Level Abu Dhabi Dialogue. Senior officials from MOP&HRD have accompanied the Minister.

A ceremony will be held on Wednesday, 27 October 2021 at which Minister Khusro Bakhtyar will receive the transfer of chairmanship to the Islamic Republic of Pakistan.

Pakistan has been granted the Chairmanship of Abu Dhabi Dialogue for the first time which will last for two years i.e., 2022-2023 through the efforts of the Ministry of Overseas Pakistani Human Resource Development.

In order to expand joint ventures within Pakistan’s industrial sector, Minister Will meet traders and investors from UAE. Therefore, he will lead the Pakistani delegation during the ADD summit to sidelines meetings and meet with ministers from other countries.

In 2008, the ADD was created to facilitate dialogue and cooperation among Asian labor sources and destinations whereas, it comprises the 12 Colombo Process Member Countries and six Gulf countries. In 2016, Pakistan started taking part in consultations regarding ADD.

Multilateral cooperation and dialogue for the joint development and implementation of labor mobility-related programs and reporting is the ADD’s way to make sure that the Member States create partnerships for best practices adoption, and can learn from each other. Furthermore, it’s a state-led Regional Consultative Process (RCP). The ADD aims at safe, regular, and orderly labor migration within some of the most important temporary labor migration corridors in the world.

Recently, civil society also got an invitation to take part in the dialogue as well as to get involved in the realization of some programme areas.
