Brussels (TDI): Pakistan’s Ambassador to the European Union, Belgium, and Luxembourg, Rahim Hayat Qureshi, called on Dean of the Diplomatic Corps in Brussels, Apostolic Nuncio, Archbishop Franco Coppola.
During the meeting, they discussed strong relations based on mutual respect and common values between Pakistan and Holy See.
They reaffirmed their commitment to strengthen bilateral engagement by fostering diplomatic and cultural exchanges.
The meeting also included discussions around how to liaise systems with each other to better capitalize on mutual areas of partnership.

Focus then turned to Pakistan’s overall achievements in promoting interfaith dialogue, protecting religious minorities, and developing factors for social harmony in the country.
The Arch Bishop praised Pakistan for its achievements in this regard.
Both sides highlighted the importance of working together at Brussels, an important diplomatic center, for inter-faith harmony promotion on international level.
It was agreed that strengthened relations would ensure better coordination for dealing with issues of religious intolerance and other humanitarian crises, as well as global conflicts.

Ambassador Qureshi stressed that Pakistan is ready to reinforce bilateral interactions and looking for new opportunities of cooperation with the Holy See.
Both sides agreed to maintain the frequency of diplomatic engagement at the institutional level to offer further gradual growth of the long-standing partnership for an inclusive and peaceful world.
