Ottawa, 24 September 2021 (TDI): On Friday, Pakistan High Commissioner-designate to Canada Ameer Khurram Rathore met with the officials of the Canada-Pakistan Global Congress (CPGC) in Ottawa. The delegation discussed various business projects with the High Commissioner for the welfare of the Pakistani diaspora living in Canada.
The CPGC delegation comprising of Zafra Chaudry and Nadeem Younis, discussed issues related to bilateral trade, study permits, and enrollment of Pakistani students in Canadian institutes, with the High Commissioner-designate Ameer Kurram Rathore. The High Commissioner urged renewed efforts for strengthening trade relations between the two states, besides emphasizing providing Pakistani students with study permits through the Students Direct Stream (SDS) in Canada.
Discussing the issue of religious pilgrims’ visas with representatives of the Canada-Pakistan Global Congress (CPGC), Ameer Kurram Rathore assured his support for assisting Sikh pilgrims who want to visit their religious shrines in Pakistan.
