Islamabad, 31 August 2021 (TDI): On August 31, Pakistan’s Foreign Ministry wished the Malaysian people and its government a happy Independence Day. This year Malaysia is celebrating its 64th National Day.
Malaysia is located in Southeast Asia. According to World Bank, its population is 31.95 million (2019). Around 61.3 percent are Muslims with 19.8 percent Buddhists, 9.2 percent Christians, 6.3 percent Hindus, and the remaining others. Malay is its official language and Kuala Lumpur is its capital city.
Malaysia was liberated in 1957 from the United Kingdom. Malaysia shares land borders with Thailand in the west and in the east with Indonesia and Brunei. A narrow causeway and a bridge link Malaysia to Singapore while maritime boundaries connect Malaysia to Vietnam and the Philippines.
