Islamabad, 28 October 2022 (TDI): On Friday, Nong Rong, the People’s Republic of China’s Ambassador to Pakistan, met with Mohammad Ishaq Dar, the Federal Minister of Finance and Revenue.
Pakistan’s Finance Minister greeted the Chinese Ambassador and emphasised the cordial and extensive historical diplomatic relations between Islamabad and Beijing.
Ishaq Dar was thankful to the Chinese Government for helping Pakistan during this period of catastrophic flooding. During the discussion, both sides also discussed the most recent flood losses in Pakistan.
Minister Ishaq Dar and Ambassador Nong talked on how to expedite the China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) project’s development.
Both sides also shared ideas on how to further strengthen their nations’ ties of brotherhood.
It was also mentioned that CPEC was a crucial project whose prompt fulfillment was essential to obtaining the rich rewards.
Ambassador Nong Rong discussed the long-standing connections of friendship between the two nations and gave the Finance Minister a guarantee of ongoing assistance and aide for Islamabad.

The Chinese envoy also expressed gratitude to the Pakistani government for helping Chinese businesses work on numerous projects in Pakistan simultaneously.
The meeting between both side concluded between the finance minister and Chinese Ambassador on thanking note. Ishaq Dar thanked Ambassador for the ongoing assistance and collaboration provided by the Chinese Government.
Previously, China and Pakistan have agreed to expand the CPEC’s scope from building infrastructure to boosting Pakistan’s industrial capability.
The agreement was made at a meeting between Chinese Ambassador Nong Rong and Pakistani Minister for Planning and Development Ahsan Iqbal in Islamabad on October 17, 2022.
During the conference, topics pertaining to shared cooperation on energy and electrical projects were covered.
Speaking at the event, Pakistani Planning Minister claimed that achieving energy independence will stabilise the nation’s economy.

The establishment of diplomatic ties between China and Pakistan took place 70 years ago last year.
More than 140 events were held by the two sides to celebrate and remember these bilateral connections.
Despite facing global challenges in the seven decades, since diplomatic relations between China and Pakistan were established, the two nations have consistently stood side by side in good times and bad.
By collaborating to address threats and difficulties like COVID-19, Beijing and Islamabad have strengthened their strategic partnership and mutual confidence.
The two nations are the most dependable, ironclad brothers for one another, as history has demonstrated.
