Pakistan Armed Forces attended Bright Star Military Exercise 2021

Cairo, 20 September 2021 (TDI): Multinational Military Bright Star Exercise 2021, was held in Cairo, Egypt. The exercise began on 1st September 2021 and was two weeks long. It took place at Mohamed Naguib Military Base, Egypt. Twenty-one countries participated in the exercise including Egypt, United States, Pakistan, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Jordan, Tunisia, Iraq, Morocco, Sudan, Cyprus, Kenya, Nigeria, Tanzania, Italy, Spain, United Kingdom, Greece, and France.

First time since 2009, troops of Pakistan Army, Navy and Air Force participated in this multinational military Exercise. The Bright Star Exercise aims to strengthen strategic and security ties among the participating countries. It focuses to foster joint combat acts, joint interoperability, and maritime security operations to counter regional hybrid threats.

The event is being held regularly since 1980 in Egypt, when it was first time initiated by the United States and Egypt. Later on other countries also began to participate in the Exercise.
