# Pakistani Forces Eliminate Senior TTP Commander Qari Amjad in Bajaur

**Bajaur (TDI):** A senior leader of the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), Qari Amjad alias Mufti Muzahim, was killed in an intelligence-based operation conducted by Pakistani security forces in Bajaur district, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, on Thursday.

Amjad, a high-ranking figure within the terrorist group and self-styled defense minister, was a key associate of TTP leader Noor Wali and served as the head of the Rehbari Shura of the India-linked militant faction Fitna al Khwarij. The operation successfully neutralized Amjad along with several other militants.

The operation took place early in the morning and led to the elimination of four militants, including the top TTP commander, during a targeted security operation, according to media reports. Amjad, who had a bounty of Rs5 million on his head, was highly wanted by Pakistani law enforcement agencies for his role in orchestrating terrorist attacks inside Pakistan, particularly while based in Afghanistan.

Amjad’s group, Fitna al Khwarij, continues to operate from Afghan soil, where they plan and execute attacks targeting Pakistan’s security forces and civilians, especially in the Bajaur and Mohmand regions. Pakistan has repeatedly urged the Afghan authorities to prevent the use of Afghan territory by militant groups for terrorism, calling it a violation of regional security and stability.

The operation was part of Pakistan’s ongoing counter-terrorism campaign, Azm-e-Istehkam, which is aligned with the National Action Plan. The Pakistani military has stated that it remains committed to defending the nation’s borders and will continue to carry out operations to eliminate remnants of militant groups operating in the region. A sanitization operation is currently underway to clear any remaining militants from the area.

The killing of Qari Amjad represents a significant blow to the TTP leadership and its operations, as Pakistan continues its efforts to combat terrorism and secure its borders.
