Lahore (TDI): Pakistan’s women’s cricket team continues with its dominant form in the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup Qualifier 2025, sealing a fourth consecutive victory with an 87-run win over Thailand at Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore.
With this win, Pakistan has become the first team to land the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup 2025.
After winning the toss and opting to bat first, the Pakistani side dwindled a bit as the top order struggled to settle, finding themselves at 85-4 in the 32nd over.
However, a composed performance from Sidra Amin and captain Fatima Sana turned the tide for the hosts.
Sidra Amin continued the innings with a well-composed 80 off 105 balls, including nine boundaries, marking her 11th ODI half-century.
Supporting her at the crease, Fatima Sana played a captain’s knock, scoring an unbeaten 62 from 59 balls, featuring six fours and a six.
The pair’s 97-run partnership provided stability and momentum, enabling Pakistan to reach a competitive total of 205 for six at the end of their 50 overs. The team accelerated impressively in the final stretch, adding 105 runs from the last 85 balls.
Thailand, in response, faced consistent pressure from Pakistan’s disciplined bowling attack. The team lost early wickets and were reduced to 72-5 before being bowled out for 118 in 34.4 overs.
Nannapat Koncharoenkai was the top scorer for Thailand with 19 runs off 17 balls.

Fatima Sana’s all-round performance earned her the well-deserved title of Player of the Match.
This victory follows Pakistan’s strong performances earlier in the tournament, with wins against Ireland, Scotland, and the West Indies. The team will now face Bangladesh in their final group fixture on 19 April at 9:30 AM PKT.
