Oman receives the representative of the International Federation of Journalists


Muscat, 28 October 2021 (TDI): The Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Khalifa bin Ali bin Issa Al Harthy, received the Secretary-General of the International Federation of Journalists (IFJ), Anthony Bellanger.

The meeting took place at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, General Court. The Sultanate’s foreign policy and the role of the organization also were discussed.

The Minister covered the Omani Journalists Association and will host the 31st Congress of the IFJ in the next year. The President of the Omani Journalists Association, Muhammad bin Mubarak Al-Araimi, was also present in the meeting.

This meeting symbolized Oman’s approach to international institutions that promote a transparent and impartial press. The IFJ supports journalists and their unions whenever they are fighting for their rights. As well, it has established an International Safety Fund to provide humanitarian aid for journalists in need.
