MOFA Pakistan congratulates Muhammad Zahid

Islamabad 10 September 2021 (TDI): Pakistan Ministry of Foreign Affairs congratulated Muhammad Zahid on winning the Albaraka International Turk Calligraphy Competition 2021, held in Turkey. He is the first Pakistani ever to win this competition. The Albaraka competition is one of the most prestigious events that is held every three years to recognize the works of the best calligraphers around the globe.

Muhammad Zahid is a renowned Pakistani calligrapher. He got 5 years of training in Thuluth (a type of Islamic calligraphy) from Muhammad Khalid Javed Yousaf. He has several other achievements in his credit.

Moreover, he won third prize in a competition held by IRCICA, Istanbul, he won first prize in national competition Pakistan Council of Arts (PNCA) Islamabad, and got first prize in Nastaliq and Naskh competition held by Babar Ali Foundation, Lahore. He won the 5th award in modern calligraphy, Burda awards held in Dubai, and received the award in Jali Thuluth and Naskh in the 4th Cairo International Biennial of Arabic Calligraphy Art, Egypt.
