South Africa and Poland already enjoy cordial relations and this visit would further enhance the bilateral relationship. It must be noted that Poland and South Africa have a long tradition of bilateral and multilateral relations. With that, the relations between South Africa and Romania are cordial as well. Bilateral economic relations between the two nations are robust.

A Protocol on Political Consultations between the Government of South Africa and the Government of Romania was signed in 2016 which provided a basis for the cooperation and bilateral relations between the two countries.
